ELECTRONIC EVIDENCE (E-EVIDENCE)

 

Overview: E-Evidence encompasses all electronic media such as computer, tablets, mobile phones, mobile devices, USBs, memory cards and other electronic devices that store data and can process information. These devices are capable of storing large amount of data and are source of vital information that could be used as evidence in a court of law. However, the process of acquiring, analyzing and presenting this evidence in a court of law requires some specialized skills and knowledge.

  • Aspects of Forensic Sciences

  • Introduction to Digital Forensics

  • Role of Electronic Evidence in Criminal and Civil Procedures in Nigeria

  • Documentation, Examination and Analysis of Evidence

  • Role of Chain of Custody of Evidence

  • Nigerian Evidence Act (2011) as amended

  • Presentation of Electronic Evidence in Nigerian Courts

  • Role of the Expert Witness in Court.

  • Lab and Practical Demonstration on E-Evidence Analysis

  • The use of forensic science and the role of electronic evidence in criminal and civil procedures in Nigeria.

  • Empower witnesses giving testimony in court to be able to act as expert witnesses in trials.
